Mini Goldencavadoodle Breed Overview
The mini goldencavadoodle is a new designer breed that comes from crossing a mini poodle with a mini golden retriever. Hence the 3 way cross because a mini golden is usually a cross between a golden retriever and a cavalier. We usually use a purebred mini poodle female to keep the poodle genetics at 50% therefore they can be considered somewhat hypoallergenic. I say somewhat because depending on a person’s degree of sensitivity to dog hair they may still see a slight reaction to this breed, most people should be unaffected unless they have a severe case of dog hair allergies. Also at 50% percent poodle the coat is usually very curly and will need periodic grooming and/clipping to keep it manageable. Colors can be anything from mostly black to all shades of cream to red with occasional white markings. These dogs are very friendly and make ideal house dogs because of the minimal to no shedding. Size can vary from 15-30 lb. They are considered a medium energy dog, a fenced in backyard or daily walks should be part of their normal routine.
