Biewer Yorkshire Terrier

The Biewer Terrier, or Biewer Yorkshire Terrier, is a silky, long-haired terrier very similar to the Yorkie. They were developed in Germany and carry a lot of Yorkie genetics. They are a fairly recent addition to the AKC purebred registry. They usually come in tri-color; black and white with gold or brown markings around the face. They are full of energy and have an excellent personality, they always look as if they were smiling. With their long straight hair, and non-shedding coat, they are considered hypoallergenic and should not bother someone with mild dog hair allergies. They are absolutely stunning when groomed with their hair left long, and a bowtie on the top of their head to keep their hair out of their eyes, but for easier care, a lot of people cut their hair short for a low maintenance coat. Full-grown Biewer Terriers are usually 6 to 9 lb, making them an ideal lap dog.
